WSOP and How You Can Practice For it Online
Getting a WSOP entry and having a respectable showing is possible for almost anyone who can play poker online . But, the process isn’t easy and it takes hard work and dedication to achieve. Here are the two steps to making it to the WSOP online.
Step 1: Getting Your WSOP Entry
Earning your WSOP entry online may be one of the hardest things you do that are related to online poker. It doesn’t matter if you are playing Stud poker, Omaha hi/lo or the classic Texas Holdem – it will be a journey that you will never forget. There is a good chance that you will have to play in quite a few of these tournaments before you achieve success, but with a little perseverance, anything is possible.
The first thing you have to do is identify when your online poker room is running their WSOP promotions. These things usually run throughout the year, but they usually come up more frequently in the months right before the WSOP. It is best to start trying to win your entry as soon as possible so you have multiple chances to win.
Remember – winning a lot of these tournaments comes down to luck at the final table, so you can’t expect your skills to take you all the way – you need help from luck.
Step 2: Planning To Win
After you have won your entry into the WSOP, the hard work is about to begin. If you are lucky, there is still an adequate amount of time to prepare to play your best game.
One thing many online poker players don’t understand is that it takes a different strategy to win offline than it does online. To win online all you really need to know about is the mathematics behind the game and making the play with the most positive expected value. But, when you play offline, you need to know how to read people, how to hide your tells, and how to succeed at a seemingly different game.
Playing at various online poker sites will allow you to polish your mathematical skills and gain experience by playing more hands, but you will have to at least practice in a few live situations if you wish to be successful playing in the WSOP. It is a good idea to find a home game or two at the least to play in and practice reading other poker players and learning to conceal your tells.
Getting to the WSOP is a goal of almost every poker player. If you follow the above steps, you should be able to win an entry and achieve your dream eventually.
